Responsibilities:

  • Develop and interview sources for stories, write and edit instructional articles, work with senior editors to publish content online, and interact with multiple stakeholders
  • Gather and report news on a daily basis--including 2 stories per day for the PC360 website
  • Engage and monitor interactive dialogue, develop insurance contacts & relationships
  • Explore new technologies and avenues for an ever-expanding web presence
  • Work with contributors to assign, edit and produce news stories
  • Other duties as assigned – e.g., produce slide shows, attend industry events, produce and distribute industry newsletters, handle social media marketing, monitor & manage at least one insurance channel on PC360, write feature stories as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree, preferably in journalism
  • Significant editing experience at a newspaper, magazine or online journalism outlet
  • Demonstrated news judgment and headline-writing chops
  • Above-average copyediting skills
  • Experience in insurance or related industry publishing preferred; an interest in insurance topics required
  • Must be a quick study and a multi-tasker
  • A willingness to learn and become passionate about the business of insurance, and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality business journalism 
  • Familiarity with Associated Press Stylebook
